Guwahati, 16 May (HS): Security agencies guarding Assam’s international border have once again foiled an infiltration attempt, with 14 alleged illegal entrants being stopped before entering Indian territory, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed on Saturday.

Sharing the information through a post on social media platform, the Chief Minister credited the joint vigilance of the Assam Police and the Border Security Force for successfully identifying and intercepting the group near the border.

Sarma said security personnel deployed along the frontier remain on constant alert to prevent illegal infiltration attempts. “Our forces are highly alert on the border and thwarting infiltration attempts,” he stated while praising the role of the jawans involved in the operation.

Reaffirming the government’s stand against illegal entry, the Chief Minister asserted that strict monitoring and action against infiltrators would continue under the campaign “#AssamAgainstInfiltrators”.

Notably, this is the second such operation reported within two days. On May 14, the Chief Minister had announced that 12 alleged infiltrators were similarly intercepted by the Assam Police and BSF before they could enter Assam.------------
