Nagaon (Assam), 26 April (HS): In a major breakthrough in the Morikolong robbery case, Nagaon Police have arrested the alleged mastermind, Umar Ali, along with another accused identified as Mintu Hussain.

According to police sources, the accused were apprehended during an operation conducted in connection with the recent dacoity at the residence of Dr. Ranjit Saikia. The police also recovered the stolen cash looted from the doctor’s house during the raid.

However, three other members of the robbery gang are still absconding and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend them.

Police officials further revealed that Umar Ali is a habitual offender and had been involved in multiple robbery cases in the past. He is a resident of Barghuli under Rupahi area in Nagaon district.

Further investigation into the case is currently in progress.-----------
