Nagaon, 24 April (HS): A shocking incident of night-time robbery was reported from Morikolong in Assam’s Nagaon district, where unidentified miscreants looted the residence of a doctor and brutally assaulted the couple.

According to reports, the house of noted physician Dr. Ranjit Saikia was targeted by the robbers late at night. The attackers not only carried out the loot but also physically assaulted Dr. Saikia and his wife during the incident.

The injured wife of Dr. Saikia has been admitted to Apollo Hospital for treatment. Her condition is reported to be serious, while further details regarding the extent of the robbery and the identities of the assailants are awaited.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend those involved.----------
