Nagaon (Assam), 26 April (HS): In a shocking incident, three persons were allegedly assaulted by a group of miscreants inside Shivsthan police outpost in Nagaon district, raising serious concerns over security arrangements.

The victims have been identified as Deepjyoti Saikia, Dipankar Saikia, and Pabitra Saikia. According to reports, the trio was attacked with iron pipes by a group of suspected individuals, leaving them injured.

Police sources said the assault took place within the premises of a police picket, intensifying questions about how such an attack could occur in a secured area.

Following the incident, police launched an investigation and detained three suspects identified as Abu Bakkar Hussain, Ikramul Hussain and Mukhsidul Haque.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the attack and identify other individuals involved.----------
