Lucknow,

April 26 (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Sunday

that the state police, which was in crisis prior to 2017, has now emerged as

one of the greatest forces in the country, saying that the mafia no longer

rules over the state government. Addressing the passing-out parade of the 2025

batch of police constables at the Reserve Police Lines here, he lauded the

force and stated that rioting, extortion, and the 'goonda tax' are no longer

common in the state. Criminals are afraid, and police morale is strong. Targeting

past regimes, the chief minister stated that neither girls nor traders were

secure. The state has become synonymous with insecurity and chaos. Whereas

riots used to occur before 2017, the Uttar Pradesh Police is now succeeding in

averting them even before they erupt.

Addressing

new recruits, Adityanath stated that the law should be as harsh against

criminals as it is sensitive toward civilians, and he expressed confidence that

constables will uphold the rich traditions of the UP Police. He also commended

the female soldiers, stating, Daughters have completed their training

with strength, readiness, and discipline, which is commendable.

Highlighting recruiting efforts, he stated that on June 15, 2025, Union Home

Minister Amit Shah delivered employment letters to approximately 60,000

constables, whose training began on July 21 of last year. The chief minister

stated that over 2.18 lakh police personnel have been recruited and over one

lakh promoted in the last nine years, and that the police budget has increased

since 2017. He added that seven police commissionerates have been established,

and the Anti-Terrorism Squad is being trained along the lines of the NIA.

Furthermore,

cyber police stations and forensic labs have been established in all 75

districts, and women's safety projects are being implemented under Mission

Shakti, with women making up 20% of the current recruitment, according to the

chief minister. The more sweat shed during training, the less bleeding occurs

afterward. Adityanath claimed that the police's greatest asset is its discipline.

Director

General of Police Rajeev Krishna stated that the 2025 batch is the first time

in the country that 60,244 constables have been recruited directly, including

over 12,000 women, describing it as a significant step toward women's

empowerment. The chief minister also presented appreciation certificates and

awards to the constables during the occasion, which was attended by various top

officials and dignitaries.

In

a post on X, UP CM mentioned, “The tradition of security, service, and resolve

in Uttar Pradesh is entering a new chapter today. 60,244 Constables (Civil

Police) of the direct recruitment-2025 batch will take the pledge to march

constables of the 2025 batch organized in Lucknow. We have successfully

completed the training of 60,244 Uttar Pradesh Police constables together at centers

in Uttar Pradesh itself. The Uttar Pradesh Police is contributing to providing

people with the best security and facilities within the country as a model

police and smart police. Now, fear has entered the minds of criminals in the

state, and the morale of the police is high. Now, in Uttar Pradesh, the female
