Kolkata, 22 April (H.S.) : The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) on Wednesday announced that the results of this year’s Higher Secondary examinations will be declared on May 14, after the results of the state Assembly elections are announced on May 4.

WBCHSE President Partha Karmakar said the results would be officially released at 10:30 a.m. during a press conference at the Council’s office in Bidhannagar.

The announcement comes after the state had earlier declared that Madhyamik examination results would be published on May 8. With the Higher Secondary result date now confirmed, anticipation among students and parents has intensified.

The Council said students would be able to access their marks online one hour after the formal declaration of results. However, the list of official websites for checking results has not yet been released. Authorities said the details would be announced shortly.

This year’s Higher Secondary examinations were conducted under a revised format, with the semester system introduced for the first time. Alongside the fourth semester examinations, supplementary tests and examinations under the previous annual system were also held.

More than seven lakh students are estimated to have appeared for the examinations this year, making the result declaration one of the most awaited academic events in the state.
