Noida, April 22 (HS): Addressing a press conference in Noida
on Wednesday, Bharatiya Janata Party state president and Union Minister of
State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary attacked the opposition to the Nari Shakti
Vandan Act and the protection of nepotism by the Samajwadi Party and the
Congress, saying, If women take on responsibilities, familial friendships
will end. The state BJP president said that Noida is not only the
fastest-growing city of Uttar Pradesh but also of the country. Thousands of
companies and industries are present in this industrial city. The path to the
state's progress passes through this city. This progress is not only due to
men. Women also have half the contribution in this progress.
He emphasized, “We are all
aware of the situation before 2017. Open harassment was common in cities.
Whenever sisters and daughters ventured out, families would worry until they
returned home safely. Goons, mafia, and criminals enjoyed the moral support of
those wearing red caps. The administration was submissive to these goons.”
Speaking about the changes in Uttar Pradesh, Pankaj Chaudhary said that change
began to be visible when our government came to power in 2017. Numerous
effective steps were taken to protect sisters, daughters, and working women in
cities. Administrative accountability and constant monitoring increased,
transforming the face of cities. The BJP state president further said, “Look at
Noida now. A large number of sisters, daughters, and women work in IT
companies, startups, and industries here. Due to the efforts of the
double-engine government, the number of working women in the state has
increased to 36-37 percent in the last nine years.”
Speaking on Prime Minister
Narendra Modi's pledge, he said that to ensure women in the country and state
progress, and to enable women from ordinary families to become MLAs and MPs,
our government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
introduced the Women's Reservation Amendment Bill. Because our pledge is
empowered women, a prosperous society, and a new beginning through women's
reservation.
Speaking about the opposition's
anti-women behaviour, Chaudhary said that parties like the Samajwadi Party and
Congress, which thrive on the immortal vine of nepotism, opposed this bill and
celebrated its failure. These parties didn't oppose this bill per se, but
rather opposed the historic change it would bring to women's lives. They
derailed women's social strength. These people are hell-bent on celebrating the
denial of women their rights. They know that if women assume responsibility,
family friendships will end.
Referring to the triple talaq
law, Chaudhary held up a mirror to the Samajwadi Party and other opposition
parties, saying that these people were posing as fake advocates for Muslim
women. Where did their empathy for Muslim women go when they opposed the triple
talaq law? Now they were demanding separate reservations for Muslim women in
the House. This was merely a ploy, as they know that reservations based on
religion are against the fundamental spirit of the Constitution. They used this
pretext to demonstrate their divisive mentality.
Chaudhary said that the
Samajwadi Party and Congress are only concerned about their vote bank day and
night. They have no concern for the dignity and upliftment of women. Whenever
the opportunity arose, they were found standing against women. Whenever the
issue of women's upliftment came up, they worked to stall, divert, and delay it.
By allying with the Congress on the Women's Reservation Bill, the Samajwadi
Party exposed its true nature, character, and true face.
He stated that the Bharatiya
Janata Party is committed to women's rights. Chaudhary stated that the Home
Minister had guaranteed a 50 percent increase in seats across the country.
Despite this, the opposition has created a vicious cycle and crushed women's rights.
Pankaj Chaudhary stated that every Bharatiya Janata Party worker stands
shoulder to shoulder with the Prime Minister to fulfill his pledge of women's
progress.
