
Guwahati, 22 April (HS): The Noonmati Police in Guwahati have arrested two alleged drug peddlers involved in narcotics trafficking during a special operation conducted on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs, leading to the arrest of the two accused from within the jurisdiction of Noonmati police station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Abhishek Ghosh and Minku Moni Deka alias Maina. Police revealed that one of the accused, Minku Moni Deka, is the son of a retired police officer.
During the operation, the police recovered 21.57 grams of heroin, a sum of cash and several empty plastic containers from their possession.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway. Police are currently interrogating the accused to ascertain more details about the network involved.-----------
