
Amethi, April 22 (HS): Police have opened an inquiry
after a lady claimed that her spouse fooled her under the guise of marriage and
is now preparing to marry another woman, police said on Wednesday. The
complainant, a native of Bahraich district who had been working in Delhi, said
that she met Mohit Vishwakarma, a resident of Mochwa village, in a shopping
center where they both worked and began a relationship. Both were in their
twenties.
She claimed that the accused had physical intercourse with her on the
promise of marriage and that she fell pregnant twice but was obliged to abort
both pregnancies after receiving medicine from him. The woman further stated
that the perpetrator had registered his identity as her spouse on her Aadhaar
card.
According to the complaint, the
man later left her in Delhi and returned to his village, where he was set to
marry another lady on May 2. When she learned this, she traveled to Amethi and
remained at his house for three days before being chased out by his family
members. Gyanendra Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, stated
that a complaint was received on April 21 and that preliminary investigation
established the identification of the accused. The claims are being
investigated, and legal action will be taken depending on the results, he
stated.
