Imphal, 22 April (HS): Manipur Police have arrested one person and seized a total of 310 litres of country-made liquor during a search operation conducted in the state.

According to an official statement issued by the Manipur Police Headquarters on Wednesday, the operation was carried out on Tuesday in the Mayang Thongkhong area of Imphal. The arrested individual has been identified as Chingakham Nilabeer Singh (26), a resident of Andro Khunou Leikai.

Police recovered approximately 270 litres of illicit liquor along with 80 half-litre bottles, amounting to an additional 40 litres, from his possession. The seized liquor and the accused have been handed over to the Excise Department for further necessary legal action.

Officials stated that the Excise Department has initiated proceedings in connection with the case.-----------
