Kharagpur, 21 April (H.S.): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday claimed that the exit of the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal was now certain and that the time for a political change in the state had arrived.

Speaking to reporters in Kharagpur in the morning, Ghosh said, “The time has come for the Trinamool Congress to leave. Mamata Banerjee has nothing left in her hands now. Her exit is certain.”

He alleged that people in the state were living in an atmosphere of fear and were unable to vote freely during elections. Ghosh said that if polling booths were placed under the responsibility of central forces, voters would be able to cast their ballots without fear.

“When booths remain under the control of central forces, people will vote peacefully. Here, the police work with hooligans to intimidate voters,” he alleged.

Targeting the ruling party, the BJP leader said the Trinamool Congress had now fallen into the hands of anti-social elements. He added that raising noise and making accusations would no longer help the party.

Ghosh also praised the Election Commission and the judiciary, saying both institutions were trying to ensure justice for the people.

“I want to thank the Election Commission. If central forces take charge of the booths, people will be able to vote peacefully,” he said.
