21 April (H.S.): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya
announced a significant decision on Tuesday regarding the Chief Minister's
Housing Scheme - Rural Project. He stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
government is committed to improving the social life and standard of living of
all sections of society, including the helpless and destitute, without any
discrimination, and to integrating them into the mainstream of development.
In
this sequence, the Bhontia, Jaunsari, Raji, Gond and its synonyms Dhuria, Ojha,
Nayak, Pathari, Rajgond (in Uttar Pradesh districts of Maharajganj,
Siddharthnagar, Basti, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Mau, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Ballia,
Ghazipur, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Kushinagar, Bhadohi and
Sant Kabir Nagar), Kharwar, Khairwar (in Deoria, Ballia, Ghazipur, Varanasi and
Sonbhadra districts), Parahiya (in Sonbhadra district), Pankha, Panika (in
Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts), Agariya (in Sonbhadra district), Patari (in
Sonbhadra district) and Bhuniya (in Sonbhadra district) castes (Scheduled
Tribes) residing in the rural areas of the state have also been included in the
priority category of eligibility for the Chief Minister Housing Scheme-Gramin
in view of their social and economic status.
Maurya
stated that during his visits to various rural areas in the state, it came to
light that the above castes were not included in the eligibility list for the
Chief Minister's Housing Scheme-Rural. During field visits, some eligible
individuals from these castes requested housing allotment. The Deputy Chief
Minister took cognizance of this matter and, after thorough discussion, decided
to include the above castes in the priority category of the Chief Minister's Housing
Scheme-Rural by completing all formalities.
