Asansol, 21 April (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday addressed a public rally at Baltoria Ganesh Puja Ground in support of Kulti Assembly candidate Dr. Ajay Poddar. Speaking at the gathering in Asansol, he launched a sharp attack on the state government led by Mamata Banerjee.

Shah questioned the public whether they wanted change in the state, an end to “syndicate raj,” and freedom from infiltration in Bengal. He said that Asansol was once known for its industrial strength, with iron being exported across the country and abroad, but alleged that the current government had led to the closure of industries in the region.

He emphasized that the election was not just about electing a candidate or party workers, but about freeing the entire state from corruption, infiltration, and lawlessness. Urging people to vote for the BJP, he appealed to voters to press the lotus symbol on polling day to form a BJP government.

The Home Minister alleged that law and order in the state had deteriorated and incidents of atrocities against women had increased. He assured that if the BJP comes to power, women’s safety would be ensured and strict action would be taken against criminals.

Shah also promised to curb illegal mining, create new employment opportunities, and implement government schemes transparently. He stated that under a BJP government, unemployed individuals would receive monthly financial assistance, pregnant women would get support, and bus travel would be made free for women. He added that the Ayushman Bharat scheme would be effectively implemented to provide free treatment up to ₹5 lakh for the poor.

He further said that farmers would receive greater financial assistance and youths would be given loans to start businesses. He assured transparency in government job recruitments, stating that appointments would be made without corruption.

Accusing the state government of being involved in various scams, Shah said that those responsible would be punished under the law if the BJP forms the government. He also stated that no welfare schemes for the poor would be discontinued; instead, new schemes would be introduced.

He stressed strengthening border security to completely stop infiltration and dismissed rumors about an “outsider” becoming Chief Minister, asserting that Bengal’s CM would be from the state itself.

Shah appealed to the people to unite and vote for change, promising development, security, and transparency under a BJP government. BJP district president Devtanu Bhattacharya, Keshav Poddar, and Upasana Upadhyay were also present at the rally.
