Biswanath (Assam), 19 April (HS): Police in Sotiya have arrested two notorious thieves involved in multiple theft incidents reported in the area over a period of time.

The case came to light when a garbage disposal vehicle of the Chatiya Municipal Board, parked within the campus of a girls’ middle school, was found with its battery missing. A municipal employee noticed the missing battery and immediately informed the concerned authorities.

Acting on the information, police launched an investigation and examined CCTV footage installed at the ground. The footage clearly captured the entire theft incident, which helped in identifying the accused.

Based on the evidence, police apprehended two accused, identified as Ramzan Ali and Intaj Ali. Both have been sent to judicial custody, while further investigation into the case is underway.-----------
