Nari Shakti, revered in our tradition as Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Durga, forms the bedrock of India's civilizational strength, declared Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta while addressing the valedictory of Run for Mother Earth at Brahma Kumari Shanti Bhavan in Kingsway Camp.

Gupta emphasized that Viksit Bharat@2047 remains unattainable without women's equal participation and leadership.

Critique of Women's Reservation Setback

Engaging participants, he hailed the event as a potent fusion of environmental awareness, civic duty, and social consciousness, inspiring youth toward national priorities. Noting robust female turnout, Gupta viewed it as a promising stride in public life engagement.

Referencing Parliament's recent Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026—or Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam—as a pivotal step under PM Narendra Modi's stewardship, he lamented its Lok Sabha defeat as a dark day for democratic progress, questioning institutional reforms amid inadequate female representation in legislatures.

Youth and Empowerment Imperative

Ensuring women's equitable stakes is non-negotiable for Viksit Bharat, Gupta asserted, framing female leadership as governance essential, not mere equity. He praised such platforms for instilling discipline, confidence, and collective responsibility in youth, especially women.

Gupta distributed awards, commending organizers for uniting conservation, empowerment, and youth involvement—initiatives he said will foster inclusive national advancement.
