Guwahati, 19 April (HS): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway has once again demonstrated its firm commitment to passenger safety by conducting a series of successful operations across multiple railway stations, leading to the arrest of several theft accused.

NF Railway CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma informed on Sunday that on April 13, a team from Rangiya CPDS apprehended a person onboard Train No. 15930 (Down) for allegedly stealing passenger belongings. A stolen mobile phone worth around ₹40,000 was recovered from his possession. The accused was handed over to GRP Rangiya, where a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

In another operation on April 14, RPF personnel from Katihar (East) post arrested an individual at Katihar Railway Station. A stolen mobile phone valued at approximately ₹15,000 was recovered from him. The accused was later handed over to GRP Katihar, where a case was registered under appropriate sections of the BNS.

On the same day, RPF personnel from CPDS Guwahati successfully apprehended another accused at Guwahati Railway Station. A stolen mobile phone worth about ₹15,000 was recovered from his possession. He was handed over to GRP Guwahati for further legal action under relevant provisions of the BNS.

Continuing the crackdown, on April 16, RPF personnel from New Bongaigaon post arrested a person at Bongaigaon Railway Station with a stolen mobile phone worth around ₹10,000. The accused was handed over to GRP New Bongaigaon for further legal proceedings.
