Nandigram, 19 April (H.S.): As the polling day for the West Bengal Assembly elections draws closer, political campaigning has intensified across the state. In this context, on Sunday, Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut held a roadshow in Nandigram of East Medinipur district.
Speaking to the media during the event, she said that the people of Nandigram never tolerate injustice. Referring to the previous election, she claimed that Mamata Banerjee was “driven out” from the constituency and noted that she is not contesting from there this time. “That is the strength of Nandigram. Saffron is visible everywhere, and there is a strong sense of enthusiasm regarding the Bengal elections,” Ranaut said.
Notably, senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, is contesting from Nandigram as the BJP candidate. In the previous assembly election, Adhikari had defeated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from this seat.
