Mumbai, 17 Apr (HS): Maharashtra Minister for Higher and Technical Education

Chandrakant Patil has directed has planned a three-day training programme for

directors, principals and teachers in senior colleges across Maharashtra, for

implementation of the National Education Policy from the 2026-2027 academic

session. The three year undergraduate degree course will be converted into a

four year course with honors degree.

The

NEP declared in 2020 will be implemented from the coming academic year in

Maharashtra. Uniform implementation of the new pattern is being ensured through

training of teachers, principals and directors of colleges. Research and

flexibility has been emphasised in the new pattern for better development of

the students.

The

participants will be provided information about Credit Framework, Multi-entry

and Exit, and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) during the training programme. Attending

on-line training programme is mandatory for all to avoid deficiencies in

implementation of the NEP.

The

Department of Higher and Technical Education had conducted various awareness programmes

earlier in different regions and colleges.
