Shivsagar (Assam), 18 April (HS): A serious road accident took place at Haripara Ali in Dimow when a vehicle allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol collided head-on with an e-rickshaw, leaving the e-rickshaw driver critically injured.

According to reports, the vehicle bearing registration number AS-04 AH 9725 rammed into the e-rickshaw from the opposite direction last night. The impact caused severe injuries to the e-rickshaw driver, identified as Tajid Hussain of Athabari.

Local residents immediately rushed to the spot, rescued the injured driver, and shifted him to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.

Meanwhile, locals have demanded the installation of speed breakers at the accident-prone stretch to prevent such incidents in the future.------------
