Srinagar, 13 April (H.S.): Two brothers are feared drowned in the Jhelum river in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.

The incident took place when Majid Bashir (30) and Shahid Bashir (28) were bathing their sheep and slipped at Padshahibagh area of Bijbehara, they said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the brothers slipped while the other drowned while trying to save him.

A search has been launched to trace their bodies.
