Kamrup (Assam), 13 April (HS): At least one person has killed on the spot while 11 others sustained serious injuries in a road accident in the Rangia area of Kamrup (Rural) district on Monday morning.

According to police, the accident occurred when a passenger tempo (AS-28C-4667), travelling from Rangia towards Tamulpur, collided head-on with an e-van (AS-13R-7370) coming from the opposite direction towards Rangia from Bhutan.

The incident took place at around 6:00 am. Police teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information and shifted all the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. The body of the deceased has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem.

The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Boro. Police have registered an FIR in connection with the incident and initiated an investigation accordingly.------------
