Jorhat (Assam), 13 April (HS): A devastating fire broke out in Jorhat, triggering panic among local residents last night, officials confirmed on Monday. The incident occurred at Rajamaidam Gajpuria Road, where flames rapidly engulfed the area.

According to initial reports, the fire is suspected to have been caused by a cylinder explosion, which intensified the blaze and led to significant damage. Locals immediately alerted authorities as the fire spread quickly.

Fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and launched a prompt operation to control the flames. Owing to their swift response, the fire was eventually brought under control, preventing further escalation.

No casualties have been reported so far, although an assessment of property damage is currently underway. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the incident.----------
