Guwahati, 13 April (HS): The city police apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals in a major operation, exposing an illegal infiltration and document procurement network.

According to police sources, the detained individuals had reportedly entered Assam through a broker identified as Asif Ali. Investigations revealed that the broker facilitated their movement and settlement in the state.

Further inquiry indicated that the four individuals had managed to obtain voter ID cards from Barpeta district, raising serious concerns over identity verification and electoral document misuse.

Police also informed that the broker, Asif Ali, was identified at the scene wearing a red T-shirt. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the larger network involved in the illegal activity.-----------
