
Tinsukia (Assam), 13 April (HS): Panic gripped a village in Tinsukia district after unidentified miscreants opened fire at the residence of a relative of banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) chief Paresh Baruah late Sunday night.
According to local sources, the incident occurred around midnight when at least two individuals allegedly targeted the house of Baruah’s younger brother, Mission Baruah and fired multiple rounds. The sudden gunfire created fear among residents in the area.
No casualties have been reported so far. However, the attack has raised serious concerns over security in the region. The assailants reportedly fled the scene immediately after carrying out the firing.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and intensified security measures in the locality to trace those involved. Further details are awaited.----------
