Dr. D. Sudhakara Rao Assumes Charge


Bhubaneswar, 13 April (H.S.): Dr. D. Sudhakara Rao has assumed charge as the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for the Odisha Region.

An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the 1990 batch, Dr. Rao brings with him vast administrative and leadership experience across several states and Union Territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, Karnataka, Puducherry, Kerala, and Maharashtra. He is currently also holding the additional charge of Principal Chief Commissioner for the Bihar and Jharkhand regions.

Hailing from Telangana, Dr. Rao has a strong academic background, having earned an M.Phil. in Environmental Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University.

His appointment is expected to further strengthen the functioning and administrative efficiency of the Income Tax Department in the Odisha Region.
