Commemorative Spirit and 135th Milestone
District President Rakesh Thakur announced in a press statement on Monday, from Hamirpur that this 135th birth anniversary inspires unwavering commitment to equitable access to education, women's empowerment, skill development, and livelihood parity for every citizen. Dr. Ambedkar's legacy as the principal draftsman of the Constitution continues to illuminate modern India's egalitarian ethos.
Thakur detailed a week-long observance from April 14 to 19 at every mandal level within the district. Culminating on April 19, a district-level seminar at Tauni Devi Temple precincts will see party workers reflect on Dr. Ambedkar's monumental contributions to nation-building.
Thakur lambasted contemporaneous Congress leadership for systematically marginalizing Dr. Ambedkar's stature. He alleged that Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru felt threatened by Ambedkar's rising eminence, denying him due reverence, withholding a Bharat Ratna nomination, and maneuvering his defeat in the 1952 general elections.
Hamirpur BJP District Vice President Raj Kumari Thakur lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to convene a special parliamentary debate on the Nari Vandana Act. She hailed it as a historic stride toward empowering the nation's maternal force, catalyzing women's political, social, and economic ascendance.
