New Delhi, 13 April (H.S.):

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Nari Shakti Vandan Conclave in Vigyan Bhawan on Monday, proclaiming the event a testament to women's burgeoning confidence, capability, and decisive role in nation-building.

Gupta extolled women's indispensable contributions to India's progress, global stature, and development, lauding PM Modi's visionary policies for their empowerment. She welcomed and thanked him for centering women's dignity and security in governance.

Recounting Indian women's epochal struggles against sati, child marriage, illiteracy, and female foeticide—eras when daughters' very existence teetered—she celebrated the transition under Modi's stewardship from Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to an era of Beti Badhao.

Post-2014 reforms positioned women at policy cores: Swachh Bharat's toilets, Ujjwala's smoke-free kitchens, Jan Dhan's financial autonomy—milestones restoring dignity. Today's daughters excel in education, nutrition, and frontier defense, piloting fighter jets over borders.

Citing Sushma Swaraj and Nirmala Sitharaman's stewardship of foreign and finance ministries, Gupta affirmed courage transcends gender. She hailed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act as historic—not mere legislative tweak but a gateway embedding women in parliamentary and assembly decisions, empowering 700 million for leadership.

Urging attendees to bolster this via missed call to 9667173333, Gupta rallied for Women-Led Development. Union Minister Annapurna Devi, MoS Savitri Thakur, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, and pan-India Nari Shakti convened. Enacted September 2023, the Act reserves one-third seats for women, now advancing implementation.
