Kokrajhar (Assam), 06 March (HS): Three new members were sworn in as Executive Members of the Executive Council of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) at a ceremony held at the BTCLA auditorium in Bodofa Nagar, Kokrajhar, on Friday.

The newly inducted members include Maheshwar Basumatary from the Goreswar (ST) constituency, Laxmi Das from the Nagrizuli (Non-ST) constituency and government-nominated member Karmeshwar Rai.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Assam Government and the current Principal Secretary of BTC, Mukesh Sahu, administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new members. With the inclusion of these three members, the total strength of the BTC Executive Council has increased to 17.

It is expected that their inclusion will further accelerate developmental activities and the implementation of welfare schemes across the BTC region.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Executive Members Derhasat Basumatary and Munmun Brahma, MCLA Yubiraj Basumatary, Additional Chief Secretary Pranjit Kumar Wary, the BTC Secretary, other officials, and several dignitaries.---------------
