Nagpur, 06 Mar

(HS): Presenting a estimated 40,552 crore deficit budget, Maharashtra Chief

Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the state is moving fast towards making it

one trillion dollar economy. By 2047 the air is to take the economy of the

state to five trillion dollars.

Fadnavis

presented a budget with provision of Rs 7,69,467 crore and estimated revenue

generation of Rs 6.16,099 crore. He spoke about various projects and schemes

for the welfare of farmers, women, youth and facilities for health, start-ups

during his speech while presenting the budget on Friday.

Women Development: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, besides

waiving loan for the farmers and announcing arrangements for irrigation,

announced that the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme will continue and adequate funds have

been earmarked in the budget.

Anganwadi

workers will be trained in financial management to guide women in rural area. A

survey to identify single women is in progress. Various programmes for their

economic growth will be announced after analysing the report of the survey.

Fadnavis

announced that 27 lakh women became ‘Lakhpati Didi’ and in the next financial

year an additional 25 lakh women are expected to become so.

The produce of

Women’s Self-Help Groups are being marketed through ‘Umed Malls’ in 13

districts.

Youth and Sports: Six international universities are opening their

campuses in Navi Mumbai to make it an Educity. On the same lines educational

campuses will be developed in 8 to 10 cities.

The students

will get opportunities to visit agencies like ISRO and NASA to develop interest

in science.

A Maharashtra

Agency for Holistic International Mobility and Advancement (MAHIMA) will work

in training youth in communication, various skills, vocational training and

finance management etc. For counselling and extension 36 centres will be

started.

Start-ups will

be provided financial assistance. In the next five years 1.25 lakh industries

are expected to support 50,000 Start-Ups.

Eight High

Performance Centres to promote12 sports will be started. Presently four such

centres are operational. A total of 25 Sports Excellence Centres, and 96 Sports

Talent Development Centres will be started.

Social Welfare and Justice: A total of Rs 23,150 crore for Scheduyled Caste and

Rs 21,723 crore for Scheduled Tribes have been earmarked in the budget.

Adequate funds will be made available for their training institutions like

BARTI, ARTI, TRTI, Mahajyoti, AMRUT etc.

Facilities for

the People with Disabilities (Divyang) are being improved using modern

technology. One per cent of the budget has been reserved for the welfare,

training and rehabilitation of the Divyang.

Health: For ensuring proper health services areas under 29 municipal

corporations, 247 Nagar Palika and 147 Nagar Panchayats, a separate Health

Commissionerate is being formed. The National Health Mission programmes will be

implemented through it.

For early

diagnosis of cancer, diabetes, heart disease etc facilities in rural areas are

being provided with an investment of Rs 4500 crore with the help of Asia

Development Bank.

The State has 35

medical colleges and work on 11 are in progress.. The facilities for treatment

under the Mahatma Phule Janarogya Yojana have been increased from 1356 to 2399.

Fadnavis also

informed about establishment of naturopathy centres and increasing number of

beds in medical colleges and hospitals.
