New Delhi, 05 March (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta performed the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a long-awaited foot overbridge at Monastery Market, Ladakh Buddha Vihar, fulfilling a key demand of the local Ladakhi community.

Gupta expressed delight that residents' persistent requests—despite hundreds of memoranda to previous governments—were finally being addressed, accusing prior administrations of neglecting even this modest infrastructure project.

The bridge will incorporate traditional Ladakh architecture and feature two elevators for accessibility. It promises safer road crossings between Ladakh Buddha Vihar and Monastery Market while easing Ring Road congestion.

MP Praveen Khandelwal, Cabinet colleague Pravesh Sahib Singh, and BJP's Ladakh unit president Tashi Gyalson Khachu attended, underscoring the government's commitment to diverse communities in the capital.
