Bhubaneswar, 31 March (H.S.): The Odisha Assembly witnessed chaos on Tuesday as opposition members protested remarks made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey against freedom fighter and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, forcing Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House till 11:30 am.

The uproar began at 10:30 am, shortly after the House convened for the Question Hour. Members of the opposition—BJD, Congress, and CPI(M)—stormed the Well, raising slogans like “Odia Asmita Kuade Gola” (Where is your Odia pride). They also demanded a censure motion against Dubey for his controversial comments.

Speaker Padhy repeatedly urged the members to return to their seats and allow proceedings to continue, but the protest showed no signs of abating. As a result, the House was adjourned until 11:30 am.
