Bhadohi,

30 March (HS): Two carpet export business employees reportedly barged into a

colleague's leased room and raped his 32-year-old wife, police said on Monday. According

to Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinav Tyagi, the woman's husband is from the

city Kotwali and works at a carpet export company in the Gopiganj region. He

lives with his wife in a rented room nearby owing to his proximity to his

employment.

The event

occurred on March 25, when she was alone at home after her husband left for

work reasons. The suspects, Heera Lal (32) and Vivekanand Singh (35), both

coworkers of the woman's husband, then entered the home, gagged her, and raped

her in turn, according to the SP. The event was discovered on Sunday evening

when the husband arrived home, and she informed him what had transpired,

prompting the duo to file a formal complaint, he stated. The

official said that a FIR had been filed at the Gopiganj police station.

The woman's

medical checkup had taken place on Monday, and her statement will be recorded

before a magistrate, he added. According to the SP, both suspects escaped the

carpet firm's servant quarters following the event and are now on the run. He

stated that efforts are being made to track down and arrest them.
