30 March (HS): A 16-year-old boy was reportedly clubbed to death with sticks
here on suspicion of cellphone theft, police said on Monday. According to
authorities, on Saturday night, while Sonu Ali (16) was at home, six persons
entered and accused him of stealing a phone. In her complaint, the victim's
mother said that the accused, Ramesh alias Bablu Patel, forced her son into an
underpass near a fuel pump in Panditpur and struck him with sticks, gravely
injuring him. The accused thereafter brought him to the Bhadwar police station
and continued to make theft accusations. Police later transported Ali to a
hospital, where doctors ruled him dead.
According
to Rohania Station House Officer (SHO) Raju Singh, a FIR was filed against
Ramesh alias Bablu Patel, Ravi Patel, Rohit, Govind, Gaurav Pal, Azad Ali, and
an unnamed individual following his mother's allegation. Ramesh has been
detained in the case, and attempts are on to catch the remaining defendants,
according to the officer. He stated that a thorough investigation is underway
on the case.
