Kozhikode, 25 March (H.S.):

The United Democratic Front (UDF) is set to intensify its election campaign in Kerala with senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arriving in the State on Wednesday. A major public rally is scheduled to be held at Kozhikode Beach at 4 p.m., where Gandhi is expected to address party workers and supporters, energising the coalition’s campaign in the northern districts.

UDF leaders are optimistic that Rahul Gandhi’s visit will provide a significant boost to the alliance’s momentum, particularly in Kozhikode and adjoining regions. Party cadres have made extensive preparations for the event, anticipating a large turnout. The rally is being seen as a key effort to consolidate voter support and strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the Assembly elections.

Following the public meeting, Gandhi will proceed to Kannur International Airport in a specially arranged bus, interacting with party members along the route.

Meanwhile, in central Kerala, Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan will spearhead the UDF’s campaign activities. He is scheduled to tour multiple constituencies in Palakkad district on Wednesday, aiming to galvanise support for UDF candidates in the region.

Satheesan will inaugurate the UDF election convention in Ottapalam at 9 a.m., before attending another convention in Kongad constituency as the chief guest. His engagements are expected to focus on strengthening booth-level coordination and rallying local leadership.

With top leaders fanning out across different regions, the UDF is gearing up for an aggressive campaign phase. The coordinated efforts of Rahul Gandhi in north Kerala and V. D. Satheesan in central districts signal a strategic push by the alliance to maximise its outreach and voter engagement in the run-up to the polls.
