New Delhi, 25 March (H.S.):

The central government debunked reports and social media posts claiming changes to LPG refill booking timelines calling them false on Wednesday. It clarified no alterations have been made while appealing to people to avoid rumours.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated some reports wrongly claim new deadlines of 45 days for PM Ujjwala Yojana connections 25 days for non-PMUY single cylinder and 35 days for non-PMUY double cylinder. The ministry said this info is incorrect with current rules still applying.

Under existing norms the booking gap stays at 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas across all connection types.

The ministry urged citizens not to believe such rumours or rush panic bookings. It added ample LPG stock exists nationwide with no cause for worry.
