New Delhi, 25 March (H.S.):

The central government issued notices to vacate the Congress national headquarters at 24 Akbar Road bungalow and Indian Youth Congress office at 5 Raisina Road. Parties must clear out by March 28.

Sources say the Estate Department sent the notices. Congress inaugurated its new Indira Bhawan headquarters last year yet kept running operations from the old Akbar Road site just like before. Now the department cracked down.

Notably the 24 Akbar Road bungalow served as Congress HQ since 1978 spanning 48 full years where countless strategies took shape. Last year they shifted to the Kotla Road Indira Bhawan but Akbar Road activities never really stopped.
