New Delhi, 25 March (H.S.):
Opposition lawmakers led by Congress took to the Parliament premises Wednesday morning venting fury over crippling shortages of domestic cooking gas cylinders. Gathering at Makar Dwar they brandished placards with stark images of empty cylinders while chanting slogans against the government for failing households nationwide.
Among the protesters stood Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge MPs Manish Tewari and Manickam Tagore alongside RJD firebrand Misa Bharti and SP leader Dharmendra Yadav. A massive banner declaring Empty Cylinders Empty Promises captured their rallying cry as they demanded swift action to normalize LPG supply amid reports of long queues and disrupted kitchens across cities.
This public showdown underscores deepening political rifts with the opposition pinning blame on supply chain lapses tied to global tensions. Lawmakers pressed for immediate government intervention highlighting how the crisis hits daily life especially for women managing home cooking under duress just as budget sessions heat up in the capital.
