Kolkata, 02 March (H.S.): Parth Chattopadhyay and his close associate Arpita Mukhopadhyay are facing further trouble in the money laundering case related to the SSC (School Service Commission) recruitment scam. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has decided to summon them for questioning. Sources say they will be asked to appear at the ED office after Holi (Dol).

According to reports, the names of Partha Chattopadhyay and Arpita Mukhopadhyay have surfaced in several key areas during the SSC scam investigation. Based on this, the Enforcement Directorate wants to interrogate them separately to confirm the facts related to the case.

Notably, Partha Chattopadhyay was first arrested in the primary teacher recruitment scam. Later, his close associate Arpita Mukhopadhyay was also arrested in the case. After a long period in jail, both are currently out on bail. Both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are investigating this case, and a charge sheet has already been filed.

According to ED sources, the investigation into the money trail and other documents related to the SSC recruitment scam has revealed suspicious roles for both parties at several points. The decision to interrogate them has been made in this context.

Due to Holi falling on Tuesday and the holiday season during the week, immediate questioning is unlikely. According to ED sources, Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukhopadhyay may be summoned between March 16 and 18. The investigation will proceed by questioning them separately.

It is noteworthy that earlier allegations of crores of rupees in cash being recovered from Arpita Mukhopadhyay's flat had brought the entire scam into national headlines.
