Jammu, 02 March (H.S.): Continuing its sustained and resolute campaign against the menace of narcotics, Udhampur Police intensified district-wide operations during January and February 2026 under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan.

During this period, a total of 34 cases were registered, leading to the arrest of 50 persons (49 under NDPS Act and 01 under PITNDPS).

As part of strict enforcement measures, 19 vehicles used in narcotic smuggling were seized. Additionally, 10 Registration Certificates (RCs) and 08 Driving Licences (DLs) were cancelled as a deterrent measure.

The total value of pure contraband seized on the black market stands at an estimated ₹2.94 crore comprising 419 grams of heroin (₹2.93 crore) and 16 kg 950 grams of poppy straw (₹51,000).

In a major financial crackdown, properties linked with 7 NDPS cases were attached under NDPS provisions.

The attached properties include 4 vehicles, 02 electronic gadgets, and 04 residential houses including land along with 07 bank accounts frozen, with a total attachment value of ₹3.10 crore.

On the prosecution front, 01 NDPS case culminated in 01 conviction, reflecting the effectiveness of professional investigation and sustained legal follow-up by District Police Udhampur.
