Jammu, 18 March (H.S.): Reiterating further restructuring of the region, including the division of Kashmir into two Union Territories and the creation of a separate Homeland for Kashmiri Hindus to the East and North of River Jehlum in the Kashmir Valley, Panun Kashmir today said such a framework alone can ensure security, dignity and political empowerment of the genocide community.
Talking to reporters here, today, PK chairman, Dr Ajay Chrungoo said recognition of genocide and reversal of its consequences are not demands of memory alone—they are prerequisites for lasting peace in Kashmir.
He urged the Government of India to examine these issues with clarity and seriousness if it genuinely seeks to dismantle the over-ground support structures of separatism and terrorism.
Maintaining that Government of India continues to treat violence in J&K as mere terrorism and not a war form, he said GoI needs to realise that it is face to face with totalitarian genocidal war form and face to face with Jihad.
He said “We take due notice of the repeated declarations of the Government of India to eliminate the overground support structures of separatism and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and we welcome this commitment’’.
However, if this objective is to be realised, the Government of India must clearly understand how overground support structures of terrorism are created and sustained, he said. “Our consistent position has been that wrong policies and flawed strategic interventions by the State and the political class create the very spaces that nurture and legitimise such structures,’’ he added.
He, while strongly advocating for recognition of genocide said a State that denies genocide weakens its moral and strategic ability to defeat the ideology that produced it.
