March (HS): Ravindra Jaiswal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Stamps

and Court Registration Fees, Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated a development

exhibition and program in Kashi on Wednesday to mark the completion of nine

years of the Yogi government. The program was held at the Girija Devi Cultural

Complex in Chowkaghat. Speaking to the media after the event, the Minister of

State said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Kashi

has seen unprecedented development in the past nine years. He added that during

this period, 486 infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, drinking

water, and sewerage, have been completed and dedicated to the public at a cost

of approximately Rs.

35,156 crore.

He said

that 127 road and bridge projects worth more than Rs 22,829 crore have been

completed in the district, while projects worth Rs 5,813 crore are under

construction. Projects related to railways, airports, and waterways worth Rs

1,529 crore have been completed, and work is underway on other projects worth

Rs 4,934 crore. Under the Smart City plan, 34 projects have been completed at a

cost of Rs 877.65

crore. These include the Integrated Command Control Center, surveillance

cameras at 720 locations, the Sigra Sports Complex, the Town Hall Shopping Complex, and the

multi-level parking lot in Godaulia.

In the

drinking water and sewerage sector, 60 projects worth more than Rs 1,000 crore have

been completed, while projects worth Rs 2,100 crore are in progress. In the education sector,

32 projects worth Rs 512

crore have been completed, and another Rs 544 crore are under construction.

In the

health sector, 43 projects worth Rs 1,870.36 crore have been completed,

including a cancer institute, a super-specialty hospital, and a maternity wing.

Additionally, health projects worth Rs 914 crore are under construction. Under tourism

development, 30 projects worth Rs 721 crore have been completed. Among these,

the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor, Namo Ghat, Sarnath Redevelopment, and

the Panchkosi Parikrama Marg are prominent. Projects worth Rs 834 crore are

currently under construction.

The

Minister of State stated that extensive work has been done in the district in

the areas of power improvement, sports, police welfare, and transportation.

There are plans to develop a sports city near the international cricket stadium

in Ganjari. Work is also underway on the Transport Nagar project to address

traffic problems. He stated that millions of people have benefited from various

public welfare schemes. A large number of beneficiaries have been provided

assistance through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Housing Scheme,

Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, and Svanidhi Yojana.

The

Minister of State said that as a result of all these efforts, the GDP of

Varanasi has increased from Rs 22,586.91 crore in the year 2017 to Rs 51,036

crore now, while the per capita income has increased to Rs 1,03,354. On this

occasion, many public representatives and officials including District

Panchayat President Poonam Maurya were present.
