
Jammu, 18 March (H.S.): The 32nd “Holy Chhari Yatra” of holy maces of Shiv-Shakti Ji was taken out to Purmandal.
After performing traditional Pooja, headed by Mahant Rishiban Maharaj at Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir, followed by Shri Raghunath Ji Mandir by the representatives of Dharamarth Trust, J&K in the presence of trustees of Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir and Dogra Sadar Sabha, the holy maces were received by trustees/ special invitees of Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu with great pomp and show as per the old practice.
Thereafter Pooja of the holy maces was performed in Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir by Mahatmas, renowned Pujaris led by Mahant Reshiban in the presence of V K Abrol, President; S C Rekhi, Secretary of the Trust; Krishan P Gupta (Treasurer), Gambir Dev Singh Charak (Convener) alongwith Trustees/special invitees and large numbers of devotees.
After that the holy maces were taken to Purmandal in a profusely decorated vehicle via Shri Mahadev Mandir Gandhi Nagar, Shiv Mandir Trikukta Nagar, Shiv Mandir Greater Kailash, Data Ranpat Dev Ji and Shri Narsingh Dev Ji Mandirs’ Birpur, Kharah Madhana and finally to holy shrines Purmanda.
Enroute, a befitting reception was given by the large number of people of all shades. Special reception to the holy maces was organized at Kharah Madhana, Mandal etc, where Hindus/Muslims/ Sikhs and prominent Moulvis of the area received the holy maces and thereafter offered refreshments to the pilgrims accompanying the Yatra.
