New Delhi, 17 March (H.S.): The Lok Sabha unanimously revoked the suspension of eight opposition members on Tuesday, following a consensus forged at an all-party meeting convened by Speaker Om Birla, signaling a thaw in ruling-opposition tensions.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju tabled the motion, which passed by voice vote; the MPs—Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, Dean Kuriakose, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, B. Manickam Tagore, Dr. Prashant Yadavrao Padole, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, and S. Venkatesan—had been barred for the Budget Session's remainder since February 3 over protests obstructing proceedings after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was denied the floor.

Rijiju underscored the need for House boundaries and rules, pledging mutual adherence if opposition upholds Speaker directives. Consensus barred well-crossing, paper-tearing toward the Chair, table-climbing, and mandated decorum preservation.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a decorum bulletin citing Direction 124A(2), prohibiting weapons, flags, posters, sticks, spears, swords, bricks, placards, banners, and AI-generated offensive imagery to avert disciplinary action.

Speaker Birla implored members to shun fake or AI images, upholding parliamentary dignity, sanctity, and prestige.
