New Delhi, 17 March (H.S.): The Central Government withdrew the Jan Vishwas Bill from the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. The bill will be reintroduced after incorporating recommendations from the Lok Sabha Select Committee. Its objective is to promote trust-based governance by amending certain laws to decriminalize offenses and make them more reasonable.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal withdrew the 'Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025' today, after obtaining the House's permission, as reported by the Select Committee. Earlier, Goyal had moved a motion in the Lok Sabha to withdraw the 'Jan Vishwas (Provision Amendment) Bill, 2025'.

Introduced in 2025 to decriminalize minor business offenses and enhance ease of doing business, the bill is now being withdrawn. It aims to strengthen trust-based governance, fostering 'ease of living' and 'ease of doing business'.
