March (HS): The

great festivities of Chaitra Navratri and Hindu New Year (Vikram Samvat 2083 -

Siddharthi), led by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will commence

on March 19, 2026. The Uttar Pradesh government will commemorate this important

occasion with cultural activities and prayers at Shaktipeeths and temples

around the state, which will last till March 27. The Yogi administration gave

directives to provide additional security and darshan preparations during

Navratri. Special measures for cleanliness and illumination are being made at

Shaktipeeths around the state.

Adityanath congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Chaitra

Navratri and the Hindu New Year 2083, describing it as a beautiful event

celebrating women's power. CM Yogi released a special message (Paati) honoring

women's strength, reaffirming his commitment to the Mission Shakti campaign,

security, and development for women's safety and empowerment. CM Yogi tied Navratri to women's empowerment,

calling it a beautiful celebration of respect for daughters and women. Through

the 'Mission Shakti' campaign throughout the state, he has highlighted the need

of providing a safe environment and fostering women's independence. The message

discusses the government's objectives to boost women's engagement and empower

them. CM Yogi commended the ladies of the state for their contributions and

advocated for equal opportunity for women as boys in society.

Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister, is prioritizing security,

cleanliness, and electricity supply across the state. He is actively organizing

review meetings for Navratri fairs (such as at Balrampur), providing 24-hour

power supply, and urging authorities to keep the temple clean and devotees safe

throughout the nine-day festival.

The

Chief Minister has inspected and reviewed security arrangements at Shaktipeeths

(temples) and adjacent areas, instructing district officials to provide all

amenities for devotees. Plans for arranging religious activities and creating a

joyful environment are in the works, with a heavy emphasis on honoring women's

strength (Nari Shakti). Yogi commanded that all preparations for Chaitra Shukla

Pratipada, including fairgrounds and temple amenities, be finished by March

21. During the nine days of worship,

prioritize keeping the peace.

citizens of the state, may the holy festival of Navratri, the worship of

Adishakti, which begins from Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, infuse devotion, power

and new consciousness in the lives of all of us. With this good wish, heartfelt

greetings to all of you on the Sanatan New Year (Vikram Samvat 2083).”
