28 Feb (HS): Finance Minister Suresh Khanna of the Uttar Pradesh government

thoroughly inspected the cleanliness of the city of Varanasi, the district

under his charge, on Saturday. Minister Suresh Khanna expressed his

satisfaction with the timely collection of garbage bins from the streets in the

Bhojubir area, but expressed his displeasure at the sewage water flowing in the

streets.

Suresh Khanna bluntly told the Varanasi Municipal Commissioner that if

municipal officials resolve complaints received at their zone level, such a

scenario would be avoided. The flowing sewer water in the street indicates that

no municipal officer or employee has visited the site in recent days.

Seeing

the minister's sharp attitude, the Municipal Commissioner immediately

instructed officials to clean the sewer. On the spot, the BJP councilor raised

various aspects of cleanliness and local complaints. Minister Suresh Khanna was

accompanied by MLC and District President Hansraj Vishwakarma.
