Lucknow, 28 Feb

(HS): The Small Khadi and Village Industries Exhibition organized

by the Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board, under the leadership

of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and under the direction of the state's

Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Silk, Handloom and Textiles,

Khadi and Village Industries, Rakesh Sachan, concluded on Saturday at the board

headquarters premises. The exhibition was organized from February 20 to

February 28, 2026, in which artisans and entrepreneurs from across the state

got the opportunity to display and market their products.

Principal Secretary of Agriculture Ravindra Kumar,

the chief guest at the closing ceremony, honored the outstanding entrepreneurs

by presenting them with awards, mementos, and certificates. The first prize was

awarded to Gramodaya Sansthan, Sitapur (Khadi Products), the second prize to

Shruti Shukla, Lucknow, and the third prize to Draksha Fashion, Lucknow.

In his address, the chief guest stated that the

exhibition's purpose is to provide a market for local artisans and promote

indigenous products. He added that the Yogi government is continuously striving

to promote Khadi and village industries, ensure the quality of products, and

connect more and more people to self-employment.

A total of 46 stalls were set up in the exhibition,

in which Khadi clothes, herbal gulal, papad-badi, namkeen, honey, amla

products, bedsheets, towels, kurta-pyjama, silk and silk sarees and handicraft

based clothes were in special demand. In view of Holi, a large number of people

made purchases, due to which the total sales this year were recorded at Rs

54.23 lakh, which was more than the sales of Rs 50.17 lakh last year.

At the end of the

programme, the Financial Advisor of the Board, Manvendra Singh, expressed his

gratitude to all the entrepreneurs, visitors, media representatives and

officers-employees and thanked them for making the exhibition a success.
