26 Feb (HS): Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel inspected the
under-construction Maa Vindhyavasini University in Deori on Thursday, assessing
its quality and progress. She also held detailed discussions with officials
regarding academic activities and the university's long-term development plan.
She stated that the university will not only be an educational institution but
will also serve as a hub for the overall development of the Vindhya region.
The
Governor received detailed information from officials on the quality of
construction work, its timeliness, and the outline of the educational
structure, and directed them to complete the work on schedule. The Governor
gave a message of environmental protection by planting trees on the university
campus. She also distributed school bags to the school children present,
motivating them towards education. While interacting with the children, she
stressed the importance of regular study, discipline, and goal-setting.
The
Governor directed officials to develop the university into a multidisciplinary
educational center in the future, offering traditional courses as well as
vocational, technical, and research-based courses. She specifically called for
prioritizing subjects related to agriculture, forestry, environment, women's
empowerment, local handicrafts, and entrepreneurship, so that education can be
provided in accordance with the local needs of the Vindhya region. She emphasized
the need to develop the campus as a green campus, establishing a
digital library, smart classrooms, and state-of-the-art laboratories. Plans for
establishing a student hostel, a sports complex, and a research center were
also discussed.
Emphasis
on experienced faculty, industry coordination, and startup incubation: The
meeting also decided that to make the university nationally competitive, work
will be done toward recruiting experienced faculty, coordinating with
industries, and establishing a startup incubation center. Vice Chancellor Prof.
Shobha Gaur, District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar, Superintendent of Police
Aparna Rajat Kaushik, and others were present.
New
doors of higher education and employment will open: During this, public
representatives and administrative officials including Cabinet Minister Ashish
Patel assured to complete the construction work of the university in a time
bound manner. Cabinet Minister Ashish Patel said that the state government is
committed to expanding higher education in the Vindhya region and Maa
Vindhyavasini University will be developed as a model university. The Governor
expressed confidence that this university, established in the name of Maa
Vindhyavasini, will open new doors of higher education and employment for the
youth of entire Purvanchal including Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Sonbhadra in the
coming years.
