26 Feb (HS): On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tested
Japan's SC Maglev train in Yamanashi, reaching speeds of 501 km/h. CM Yogi characterized the journey as smooth
and steady, even at speeds of exceeding 500 km/h, emphasizing the train's
sophisticated magnetic levitation technology. The purpose of the tour was to
investigate sophisticated, high-speed, and environmentally friendly mobility
alternatives for Uttar Pradesh, as well as to promote collaboration between the
state and Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture. The SC Maglev train has low friction
and is a next-generation transportation technology built for efficiency and
speed. Following the ride, CM Yogi met with local authorities to discuss
economic and technical exchanges, emphasizing the need of ongoing cooperation
with Japan. SC Maglev trains can reach speeds of over 600 km/h, demonstrating
the future of high-speed rail.
