Chennai, 23 February (H.S.) : Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder-president and actor Vijay launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK government while addressing a massive gathering of party cadres in Vellore today. During his campaign for the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the actor-turned-politician characterized the electoral battle as a direct war between himself and Chief Minister MK Stalin.
He described the contest as a fight between the pure force of TVK and the evil force of the DMK, asserting that his party would not be deceived by anyone and would remain steadfast in its promises to the people.
Vijay strongly criticized the DMK's narrative of the election being a struggle between Tamil Nadu and Delhi, or the NDA. Instead, he claimed the real battle is between the citizens of Tamil Nadu and the corruption prevalent under the current administration. Labeling the DMK regime as an inept and Ulta model government, the TVK chief remarked that the state, which once claimed to be a superstar state, has been transformed into a super-standup comedian run government.
He vowed that upon forming the government, he would personally visit every village to address the grievances of the people. Emphasizing the integrity of his movement, Vijay declared that their votes are for the whistle and warned that no one could buy the loyalty of his supporters.
These statements mark a significant escalation in the political rhetoric ahead of the high-stakes 2026 assembly polls.
